We decided to test the SlideTite(tm) hooks in a 'real world' situation to see how much weight they would actually be able to hold. We knew the theoretical limits of the plastic but wanted to be sure.

Remember these hooks are designed to work in conditions between -10C and +50C but if you need a wider range (e.g. down to -80C), then we can make them in a suitable material - just call.

NOTE: In all of the tests the rope is held in the hooks by only the SlideTite(tm) slot mechanism - we have not added anything, they are exactly as we sell them.

First set of tests: 7mm diameter rope looped around crane hook, 1 hook on end of rope.

Note: The rope is still only slotted into the hooks.

Conclusion:
Each individual hook will easily hold 50Kg without breaking. Repeated lifts at this weight caused no problems. The Slidetite ® mechanism used to lock rope or bungee into the hook will still work at 100Kg+ i.e. twice the capacity of the hook itself. Therefore the slot locking mechanism will secure rope or bungee in a hook up to its maximum capacity (and beyond).
